When the Holiday times come about we are often focusing on the commercialism involved. The giving and receiving of gifts that at times seems to be routine year in and year out. But do we ever stop to think of those children less fortunate who's heart would be filled with joy just to receive one gift.
This year we have chosen the Seneca Houses, a family shelter in the Bronx. The shelter provides temporary residence for families that have been displaced due to hardship. Currently the shelter has 75 infants, 30 (2-4yrs), and 35 teens, all in need of clothing, coats, can goods, strollers, school supplies, Toys etc. Due to the financial cut backs that face the nation as a result of Sept 11th, the shelter has lost many of their coorporate fundings.
So if you have any toys (or other items mentioned above) that you or your children no longer use and would like to donate them or if you would like to purchase a gift for a child, we will be organizing a drop off point. Your gift will surely bring joy to one kid and or family this upcoming season. Moreover it will rekindle the spirit of the holidays in all our hearts.
We will be in need of members to come join us sort through the donated gifts and help us wrap. We will be in need of gift boxes and wrapping paper so for those of you not sure of what to donate their is an idea. Please bag and label all donations accordingly;
![]() You will be more than welcomed to join us on that date to distribute the gifts and take picutres.
More to come so stay tuned ......
