Family Bike Ride Event

TIME: 10 am
DATE: Sun September 9th
Coordinator: Esteban
Hosted by: Frank, Michelle, Nicole
![]() This event is new this year to our group and is sponsored by our Ruff Rider Division. We would like to invite all to our first annual bike ride. Come spend an afternoon bike ride on a safe road. So pack a lunch, gear up the bikes and ready the kids (don't forget your helmets). We will be rendezvousing at the Westchester County Parking lot in White Plains. Our ride will take us down the parkway till the end whereby we will stop for lunch. You can stop at any point during the ride and return. Bring lots of water to keep your family hydrated !!
During Bike & Skate Sundays, a portion of the Bronx River Parkway closes to vehicular traffic and opens to bicyclists and skaters between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., excluding holiday weekends, in the spring and fall. The bicycling course begins at the Westchester County Center in White Plains and runs south to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers. Bicyclists can pedal all or any portion of the 14-mile round-trip, and there are many points of access to the parkway along the route. The in-line roller skating course runs north from the Westchester County Center to Fisher Lane in North White Plains, a two-mile round-trip. There are many points of access and exit along the entire course.
In the event of rain, the Bike & Skate Sundays and Concerts in the Park will be cancelled. For general information, call the County Parks Department at (914) 864-PARK or the Westchester County Center at (914) 995-4050.
Admission to Bike & Skate Sundays is free; parking at the Westchester County Center is $3.
Bike & Skate Sundays is sponsored by the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. In accordance with New York State law, all bicyclists and skaters under age 14 are required to wear a helmet that is safety approved by the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) or shell standards. Children under one year of age are not allowed on bicycles or on separate seats attached to bicycles.
To ensure the safety of all participants, bicycle racing, in-line skating and roller skating, running, skateboards, headsets, and pedestrians are prohibited from the bicycling portion of the route during Bike & Skate Sundays. Bicycles, pedestrians and runners, skateboards and headsets are prohibited on the in-line skating portion. No motorized vehicles of any kind are permitted on either portion.
